My Satins

The Satin Breed gets its name from the special fur that makes its coat different from all other breeds.  The Satin breed has translucent hair shafts that reflect light and give its coat a unique shine.  The average adult weight for a Satin rabbit ranges from 8.5 to 12 lbs with the Bucks normally weighing in slightly less than the does.  A high protein diet supplemented with sunflower seeds help maintain good body tone and healthy coat on these animals.  The satin coat needs no special care other than routine brushing.

Ruth’s Red ---- Buck

This big guy weighs in at 10 pounds. Beautiful red coat, excellent comments from the judges he had no competition at the show this year so he didn’t get a chance to compete and show off his stuff. Maybe at the next show there will be some competition! Overall a great big buck with excellent confirmation!

Rod’s Pecan ---- Doe

Pecan is a very kind and friendly doe. She will be having a litter soon. She is still a junior bunny and has lots of time to fill out and catch up to Red.
